ANN is a Berlin-based contemporary knitwear brand founded by Stiina Huhtanen, whose passion for wool and traditional craftsmanship has shaped every aspect of the label. Driven by a deep respect for ecological resources and the timeless art of knitting, ANN celebrates the journey of wool—from its natural form to the final garment—blending primal simplicity with cutting-edge innovation.

Huhtanen's love for knitting began in her childhood, surrounded by women with a talent for crafts, especially her grandmother ANNikki, whose skilled hands brought wool to life. Huhtanen's first attempt at knitting came at the age of nine, in a primary school handicraft class, where she struggled to complete her slippers. Despite being far from proficient, her persistence shone through, laying the foundation for what would become a lifelong connection to the craft. Though knitting didn’t play the main role in her studies or early career in fashion, it slowly re-entered Huhtanen’s life. It ultimately became a meditative practice, reconnecting her with the roots of the craft.

In a time when the fashion industry faces challenges, ANN offers a different path. The brand uses sustainable, undyed, and mulesing-free German merino wool, sourced from southern German farms, spun locally to preserve its purity. Designed for durability, repairability, and timelessness, each garment embodies the very idea of sustainability. Crafted by skilled artisans in Germany, ANN’s minimal, contemporary pieces are meant to be passed down, cherished for years to come.
